Purpose of the Job
Conceptualize, prioritize, plan and conduct independent, analytical reviews and business audits in critical areas in the Group, using specialist industry and technical skills, with the objective of providing direct assistance to line departments, and guiding audit prioritization. Provide on an ongoing basis: Analysis and recommendations to line managers on critical areas for revenue protection / cost saving Consultancy and investigative support to line managers Inputs on risk analysis and categorization to Internal Audit management for the department's annual audit plan Specialist training to Internal Audit staff on industry practices, risk identification techniques, and use of computer assisted audit tools
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Internal Audit managers in scoping audit assignments and developing audit programs to achieve the audit objectives which would include:
- Testing compliance with procedures and policy with appropriate balance of big picture considerations and details
- Conduct business audits and analytical reviews of the Group's activities at the Head Office and at the outstations by using specialist and technical industry skills.
- Collecting, validating and analyzing data from multiple business systems to arrive at sound judgement of risk, based on a balance of quantitative and qualitative factors
- Determine the best audit approach, techniques and procedures required to complete the audit program, by analyzing data that would help form an opinion on the status and management of risks and utilization of business opportunities.
- Discuss and communicate audit results to the appropriate level within the business, taking into account cultural and personal sensitivities as necessary, and provide a final risk assessment to Internal Audit managers.
- Work with stakeholders in line departments in building solutions to address specific issues & risks
- Draft the audit report, follow up on responses and ensure appropriate action is taken to implement agreed audit recommendations.
- Work with Internal Audit managers in risk assessment and in periodic monitoring of the risk profile of audit centers, through assistance in the development and execution of programs for the continuous monitoring of key business risks.
- Suggest and implement 'smarter' audit methods and techniques so as to optimize audit resources and effort for subsequent reviews.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Business Audit: More than 5 Years
Degree or Honors (12+3 or equivalent) :
CPA / CA / CIA qualifications preferred
Experience in auditing / risk management or equivalent exposure in jobs involving systems analysis and management information in Finance / Insurance or line departments
Knowledge/skills: Excellent conceptual, numerical and analytical skills Strong communication and presentation skills to convey impact lucidly to line management Expert knowledge of PC applications and major corporate business systems Familiarity with the use of CAATs and data mining techniques in auditing Aptitude for continuous learning and independent work
