Job Purpose
This purpose of Examiner's position is responsible to Training Systems Manager for the preparation, and administration of English language tests according to the current examinations procedures at the School of English Language(SEL).
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Team Leader Exams in the scheduling and delivery of tests.
- To maintain examination procedures as published by the testing section. Such procedures will include the maintenance of discipline.
- To competently deliver materials using audiovisual and computer-based training aids.
- The preparation and administration of English language tests as directed.
- The development and maintenance of the English language question bank with: written computer-based and audiovisual questions.
- Vetting of coursework material for suitable standards of English where required.
- The job holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by his Line Manager which aligns with Company business.
- To keep abreast of developments in language testing and be willing to attend staff development courses as required by the Company
Requirement:
- A Bachelor (or higher) degree in English or related discipline and a postgraduate certificate in TEFL. Ideally, the applicant will possess an MA in TESOL/Applied Linguistics.
- Extensive experience of teaching English as a foreign language, at least one of which is at the SEL.
- An awareness of the City & Guilds examination policies and regulations is also desirable.
- Should demonstrate significant competence with computer software particularly the Microsoft Office suite.
- A working knowledge of the governance documents used within the TSI. e.g.: BAE Systems Regulations, EASA Regulations, the RSAF 105 Series Regulations and MTOE.
- Ability to use audio-visual/computer equipment used in the delivery of language tests.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools is required as is an ability to provide detailed feedback on exam performance.
- The applicant should be familiar with the requirements of City and Guilds English Language tests.
- A minimum IELTS score of 6.5.(Saudi National).
- An understanding of QMS in relation to the integrity and security of exams.
