About the Job
This key role is responsible for directing the distribution discipline of the Company, from vision through to implementation and support channel-specific strategies and initiatives.  As an astute and experienced professional the successful candidate is able to recognize and leverage distribution opportunities for the advancement of the organization. As a leader, we need an individual who embodies the Guiding Principles and Hallmarks as a leader in the company.

Supervise a scalable and robust distribution systems infrastructure with the Central Reservations Systems (CRS) at its core, to efficiently service reservations and to maximize company revenue streams.
Optimize revenues and profitability to Jumeirah hotels through a reduction in transaction fees and effective management of fixed overheads.
Find, evaluate, certify, contract, implement and support business partnerships with third-party online booking platforms.
Implement direct connects to tour operators and DMC’s enabling a dynamic pricing model without allotments
Drive system contribution and increase channel performance by providing direction and support to hotels in order to optimize.
Maintain excellent relationship with GDS companies, Central Reservation Service Provider and with global, regional and local third-party online travel platforms to facilitate marketing opportunities and technology enhancements
Day to day account management responsibility of global strategic distribution accounts (such as Booking.com, and Expedia) resulting in continuous improvement in market share.
Support the growth of brand channels by provide monitoring and guidance to hotels on effective selling strategy product assignment for brand direct channels (including call centre and Jumeirah.com).
Provide input into global marketing and CRM campaign product and package inclusions to enhance alignment between properties and regions.
Nurture critical interdependencies with the following support functions: Distribution Marketing, Global Sales, Brand Strategy & Management, Group IT and CRO.
Provide training and leadership to Global Sales Support Specialists in resolving distribution-related issues and servicing queries from the hotels.
Provide professional development to all direct reports and foster a succession planning strategy for the preservation of the discipline.
Ensure departmental workflows, policies and SLAs are adhered to in order to provide quality service to internal customers.
Coordinate with CRS and other vendors as needed to manage day-to-day distribution operations.
Manage the timely and successful implementation of new hotels on the Jumeirah distribution network
Provide new opening hotels with distribution leadership and direction to ensure successful and timely activation of distribution channels, alongside a business development plan for key distribution accounts.

About You

Essential:
At least 5 years in a distribution-centric leadership role within the hospitality industry  with the same amount of experience in a key management position with direct reports

Experience & credibility in dealing with internal and external senior level colleagues

Distribution based experience either for a hospitality company or chain or with a reservation service provider

Demonstrates tenacity, diligence, meticulous attention to detail, a results driven orientation, team spirit, adaptability, diplomacy.

Actively pursues personal and professional development opportunities

Proficiency and with excellent working knowledge of:

GDS Systems

Third-Party Intermediaries (ex:  Expedia, Travelocity)

Operations

Switch connectivity

CRS (SynXis, Trust, Pegasus, Micros ORS, etc.)

PMS (Fidelio, Opera, etc.)

Internet Booking Engines

Revenue Management Systems

Interfaces between PMS, CRS & RMS

Experience in chain code switches & hotel implementations

Established relationships with CRS companies

Qualifications

Bachelor in Hospitality and Tourism management or a related business discipline.

Strong analytical, reporting and process skills

Ability to develop and deliver presentations at senior executive level

Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Desirable:

Masters Degree

Active member of HEDNA
