About the job
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Executive to join the Finance department in The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:
Preparing the daily banking and ensure that it balances with the management report (i.e. EMADA and Opera)
Preparing the daily cash report and cash count report
Handling and logging all the details of cashier’s safe issues
Issuing house funds as per the contract and maintaining house fund contract file
Ensure that cash drop procedures are followed
Conduct an audit on cash drops and to communicate this back to the concerned person/department.
Give out various petty cash expense claims, cash salaries etc. once it is approved and authorized
Check the supplier invoices and close them in ADACO
Maintain details of post-dated cheques received from students
Deliver the tasks and postings assigned during month end
Assist in month-end VAT reconciliation
Prepare monthly Government reports to be submitted to Jumeirah Shared Services
Perform other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager as and when required
About you
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
You will have gained a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and will possess a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role
Experience of working in an academic institution would be viewed as highly desirable
High level of integrity
Achievement and results orientation, good administration and organizational skills, as well as the capability to multi-task and strong attention to detail
You will also be a team player with effective analytical skills
Your customer service ability will be excellent
Proficiency in computer software systems such as MS Office particularly in Excel is essential
You will have excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
