About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Operations role in Jumeirah Creekside Hotel. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
Assist the management team in execution of the business strategy ensuring the Business Excellence framework is utilized in order to achieve goals set in the SBU Balanced Scorecard
Conduct frequent and thorough inspections of the different hotel operations to ensure service excellence is consistently maintained
Verify that the best products are used in the hotel operation on a regular basis
Take responsibility for the timely delivery of capital projects within the building to ensure company assets are effectively maintained
Seek opportunities to encourage teamwork in order to share resources and best practice between departments
Ensure health, safety, hygiene and other relevant legislative obligations are fulfilled, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the hotel, guests and colleagues
Conduct or chair regular communication meetings with department heads and actively participate in relevant business meetings to facilitate effective communication
Deputize generally in the absence of the General Manager
Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management team including assistance for large events or hotel functions
Ensure that each operation is accounted for separately as an individual profit center, the Department Head is fully accountable for its profitability and the operational budget strictly adhered to
Assist the General Manager to prepare monthly forecasts
Stay up-to-date with financial results (budget versus actual) in sales and cost areas and ensure that sales and profit are maximized
Control expenses and recommend and implement measures to control them
Assist the General Manager to recruit and select members of the management team who meet the Jumeirah profile and can deliver Jumeirah core competencies
Facilitates the development of creative solutions to overcome obstacles and manages the implementation to continually improve guest satisfaction results
About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
At least 5 years’ experience in a senior management role in a 5* hotel or resort
Experience working with asset managers or owner representatives
Demonstrable achievements in improving customer satisfaction and profitability
Working with a culturally diverse workforce
Experience with project management
