An exciting position
has arisen for an Events Manager to join the Conference & Incentives team
at Madinat Jumeirah Resort. The main
purpose of this role is to ensure that all customers are given consistent
high level of service throughout each event.
Your main duties
would include:
Support the
Conference and Events Director in all aspects of managing the team
Provide counselling,
coaching and discipline to colleagues as needed
Provide performance
appraisals and feedback as per company procedures
Assess and provide
adequate training and coaching for all C&E colleagues to enable them to
perform their roles
Ensure that
responsibilities and authorities are defined and communicated within the
organisation
Demonstrate
commitment to the development and implementation of the QMS system and
continual improvement of its effectiveness by:
Communication to
colleagues the importance of meeting customer as well as regulatory &
statutory needs
Ensuring measurable
quality objectives are established and actively participate in the review of
these objectives
Ensuring the
availability of resources
Maintain open
communication with the Business Development team and ensure all leads are
followed

Other Details
In order to be considered for this role, you will have a recognized
diploma or qualification in Hospitality or Events Management.
You should have a minimum of two years’ experience in Events Management
in a Hotel and must have solid Food & Beverage background and/or strong
experience in group handling.
It is essential that you have strong command of the English language
both spoken and written. Proficiency in a second foreign language such as
Arabic, Russian, French, German and Chinese would be an advantage.
You must have excellent leadership skills, ability to work with many
nationalities, effective communication and listening skills, decision maker,
dynamic, focused, proactive, result-oriented, be highly capable to multi-task
and manage a wide range of projects simultaneously and have excellent
leadership and interpersonal skills.
You should also possess computer skills with good working knowledge of
Microsoft Office applications, Delphi and Opera.
